International Standards for Barriers

Specific standards used in the security industry are important tools for assessing the performance of vehicle access security barriers and defense systems. Some of these standards focus on the durability of products and are determined by various measurements.

Standards such as PAS 68, IWA 14 and ASTM F2656 were developed by different organizations and have different application areas.

PAS 68 is a British standard developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI Group). It specifies the methods, vehicle types and penetration measurements used in crash tests. These tests provide important data to evaluate the performance of the product.

IWA 14 is part of the International Workshop Agreement and generally provides an international framework. It specifies criteria such as vehicle mass, speed and shape through various crash tests. ASTM F2656 is a standard developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials. This standard specifies criteria for crash tests, such as vehicle type, speed and mass. Certificates holding ASTM records are usually issued by an independent third party.

In addition, standards such as PAS69 and IWA14-1/14-2 also provide guidance for the effective use and correct selection of safety barriers.
